Happy Birthday Italy

You are turning 150 this year. I know you feel tired and I bet sad when people abroad say that you are the land of corruption and mafia.
But you are also a charming lady. You have culture and style, monuments and great traditions.
You are blessed by a shining sun, beautiful landscapes and, as Goethe stated, you are the land where lemons are grown.
I will keep on posting (this is a promise after the long break) to tell what I love most.
Happy Unification Anniversary my beloved country.

Yes congratulations Italy and thank you for the wine, sun, food and hospitality that you have all shown me since moving here from England.
Here in the Lange region where I live, there have has been many parties and celebrations for the 150th birthday. All the villages have put flags out everywhere and Alba itself was really buzzing on the day itself, all the restaurants were full and people were having a great time.

It was a pleasant surprise to find the restaurant by the name of Puccini in Blgmt, IN where there is the famous Music School. The restaurant was run by an Ethiopian/Italian woman. Wished there were more restaurants like Puccini there. If you like Renaissance Italian Art and Opera that is the place to go to school, from BA to PhD.
